Let's not pretend Hennessey is a great keeper, he's been close to a career backup. Never played a full season as starter. Had a 4 year spell at Palace where he was playing semi regularly although never topped 30 appearances. Hasn't started regularly since 18/19 season.
Why would we gamble the whole season on this bloke, who's looked ropey when he has played already. Keeper is such an underrated position of importance. If its anymore than a month I'd be looking for a new keeper. Tbh I'd be tempted for the League Cup games anyway, first semi final since 1992.
All great teams have great keepers, look at Shilton,Clemence,from the past and look at the modern keepers in top teams today, all excellent. you don't compete if you have a crap keeper.
