I saw a video on twitter yesterday of the Heckingbottom Spence incident. As soon as he did it, McBurnie was out his seat and getting aggressively involved. He like hopped over in his medical boot trying to get involved when Brennan flew in to protect his mate. As a none player, non coach WTF did that incident have to do with him? As others have said, why was he even sat there anyway?
It seems trivial to start a 'yes but' debate as clearly the fans shouldn't have been on the pitch and certainly shouldn't have been goading their players, if that's what happened, but as you say, a lot of this stuff wouldn't have happened if Sheffield hadn't tried to turn the game into a battle. Heckingbottom needs to be ashamed of himself. I've not seen anything like it ever in my time I dont think. And the fact that he hasn't come out after the dust has settled and apologised (hardheartedly) is shameful. Unless I've missed something, all he's done is try to justify his actions. If that's the example he sets then it's no surprise his players do the stuff that appears to have happened.
