It would be suicide to let those two go and rely on Yates to step in.

I firmly believe that Yates would be able to take the step up and share the responsibility in the middle with Colback, Geddy, Yacob and maybe Tachtsidis. The difference between Watson and Yates is that Yates will run and press the opposition all day long and that is something Watson will never do. Youthful energy in abundance. Introducing Yates to the team gradually would be the perfect scenario in my mind but I'm afraid it will not happen.
