Having had a football kicked in the back of the head (was it one of the old casey balls...) I can tell you it can leave you seeing stars. It was 'black out' for me for a few seconds seeing stars on the school field.
So much so, the next time the ball got booted at me, I ducked...and it blew a whole in the teacher's classroom.
The 'big man' was in tears that day. (Mr. 'Me and my ball and my 'big shot'...')
