I think the 4231 straight jacket we have been in since Karanka (with only slight deviations by Sabri and O’Neil) has been our downfall for so long. Interestingly when we now use it, it is a more progress version for when we are chasing a game.
The question for me is are we really moving into a 4-2-3-1 formation or is more of a 2-4-3-1 set-up? Against Bristol I think it was more of a 2-4-3-1 as we didn't pull back the wing backs. And Brice push up and played almost the same role as Figs when in possession.
