The two concussions my Daughter has had to deal with this season have both been goalkeepers! The first dived straight into the post and the second had the ball blasted into his face from close range whilst he was diving out at the strikers feet.
I think the heading issue is related to the long term effects on players rather than them getting concussion. Former WBA and Notts County player Jeff Astle springs to mind.
