Im still on the fence mate. He should have achieved more with last seasons squad, there are no signs he will improve much with the squad we will realistically end up with for this season. If we were going to part ways though we should have done it at the end of last season rather than ballsing up this season. Were those Derby fans right that a new manager with this squad would do much better? They were wrong last year.
Why should he? Sabri went on a shocking run with last last and last season's squad. And they were his players. That Hughton got them to stave off relegation and turned them into a 'more' competitive outfit (many, many draws...just lacking a cutting edge of a striker and winger...)
They're not his players. New broom sweeps old. And he has brought in one permanent player in the last year. 1. A keeper. Not 1 permanent outfield player. Not one. You're not going to be mid-table or top 6 unless you recruit quality players. Forest did not.
Given that we haven't brought in a good striker since Aitor, many of the draws could have been turned into wins IF recruitment had brought in a single striker. It was a massive error by recruitment.
They brought Hughton in AFTER they brought in the roundly derided transfer business. Why should Hughton turn the shower that were let go into top 6 material?
The good bits about last season, Garner and Krov', weren't here for the start of it. Neither was a LB. And we've been without a LB for 5 games with the late arrival not fully fit to start today.
