Just got home. Wolves 1st XI vs Forest youth/MF. Battled hard, Completely outgunned. Most entertaining part of the day was probably a bunch of kids from both clubs trying to act hard on Fox Road and re-enact a non contact version of Green Street in an 8 a side after the game.
Positives
-Fin Back looks better with every game and the only member of back 4 who held his own defensively.
-It was only 4, it could have been 10.
- Horvath looked superb, a part of the reason it wasn't 10.
- Garner got minutes.
-Cafu's cameo was actually very good.
Negatives
-We barely laid a glove on them.
- Attendance was poor.
- We are out of the League Cup.
- I fear for Saturday.
- Clearly Figs is still our best available CB alongside McKenna.
No blame at all on Hughton. He wasn't to know they would go so strong and he has to do what he thinks is important for the weekend. Those saying he should have attacked more, clearly either weren't there or know something I definitely don't as Wolves were on a different planet. If our best XI played, the score might have been the same and injuries picked up. Their 3rd goal was sheer class, straight through the middle, but incisive beyond belief.
God I miss being any good....
