Got no issue with that at all. We just need transparency in regards to that. Randall had that opportunity and spoke in riddles sitting on a very prickly fence.
The only issue is right now is that we have not got the level of interest in anyone to be able to do that and have seemingly fell flat on our faces. 4m for Johmson is a definite no no, that will not allow us to do our business. 10m considering the position we find ourselves in is a different conversation.
Can't argue with any of that.
There's lots of talk on the other thread of us having drawn up a list of targets with salaries outlined and whatever. I'd love to know if that list was drawn up assuming we'd have made a big sale.
If it was, then that kind of explains why it's been such a struggle bringing players in so far.
My personal view is that it was mate and when the Worrall to Brentford deal collapsed it really has hindered us. I think we fully expected to sell Worrall this summer to fund the deals. If he went today it would be interesting how quickly we would get our business done.
But if we are close to the bone FFP wise I've got no issue at all by selling someone if we can to fund this summers recruitment because the calibre of player we are trying to get here will improve the team and all of an age where there value will only ever increase if they do well meaning yet more profit down the line. Like a brentford model just with a youth academy. That can only ever improve us as a team.
