To further the discussion a bit, if we take the sentiment out of it for a second my feeling is now is the time to cash in on Worrall. He is a the peak of his value now, the only way his value will increase is by playing in the Prem.We might go up this season, realistically I think our chances a slim and if you are charged with balancing the books at Forest you have to look at that likelihood. Possibly best for all parties if we sell for as much as we can this summer as long as that sum is reinvested wisely.
Thats the route Brentford have gone down, not being too fussed when their best players have moved on and it has eventually paid off for them.Forest have done pretty well at selling players at their peak maybe the one we missed was Joe Lolley a couple of years nago but I accept there would have been an outcry had we sold him.
On the flip side of the argument is what keeps us invested as fans is the thought of seeing Joe lifting the Championship winners trophy wearing a Garibaldi. Its a tough decision for all.
We also have spent decent money on a young backup to Worrall so we have his replacement already (although he's not looked great so far really) I would also be inclined to sell however only if we received a similar offer to Cash.
I don’t know. Until we have showed that we can spend wisely then I think we should keep him. It looks like soh is going out on loan and figs is not as good as Worrall or McKenna. Knowing us, we’d get £10mil for him and spunk it on some prem freebie on 30grand a week.
No. Keep him. Best defender we have and he is one of us. Make him captain and let him lead us to the prem. our defence was our strongest asset last season. Build on that.
In fact now I think of it I honestly can’t believe people would consider letting him go.
