Think we need quite a big rebuild, ironically bigger than last years that we didnt need!
So we need the rebuild now but not last year? What's changed since then? Aside from Grabban's drop off in performance, we have the same squad but bigger. Implying in fact that we also needed the rebuild last year too?! :D
This is an ongoing argument between us which probably bores everyone else. In my opinion we needed 4-5 quality additions last summer. We got 1 - McKenna. A few other holes have been plugged with some decent loans, Garner, Krov and arguably Christie.
So we still need the 4 players we didnt get last season on top of which we now have Lolley struggling for fitness, Grabban looking disinterested, Ribeiro and Ameobi out of contract and unfortunately I suspect Worrall on his way. In other words a bigger rebuild.
My argument has never been that we spent well, simply that we did need to bring in a number of players. 4-5 quality plus some squad players to fill out as we really struggled with depth under Sabri. Pretty much the same thing to me, just they bought too many CMs and most of the summer signings have failed badly. (I reckon Christie counts as a success personally so I make it 2)
I think we needed to sign an alternative to Grabban last summer, Lolley was already struggling last season, Ribeiro has been a new one and Ameobi will probably sign a new deal. My point is that we right to attempt a rebuild last year as our squad was average and as that failed, we need to do the same thing again! I think we have the same opinion :D
