So who is charge then of transfers? Is it the manager, Brazil or Modesto? It’s about time we had a strategic transfer strategy.
Who is the owner listening too, surely he to can see performances on the pitch and another summer of bringing in lot of deadwood has put us at the wrong end of the table and pushing back any dreams of promotion. Let’s hope he is watching games (I am being presumptuous that he does).
Hughton such a nice guy, but it is time he stood up and actually make major efforts to bring in player that he wants, he must now the strengths and weaknesses of the squad and which areas need improving (it’s not rocket science). .
He did that with Knockeart and now needs to follow that up but at the same time he needs to think long term (which is difficult for any forest manager) and get players like Whiteman, Mowatt both experienced and have best years ahead of them. One worry with that is he will only be interested in older players and add to future deadwood, and bring in likes of Glenn Murray
We are doing ok, but one defeat away from another catastrophe and so close to bottom 3
And now lose out on players like Whiteman to the likes of Preston. Was there real interest, can’t be if not put in a bid? Or is it a case club listening to Modesto again rather than Brazil.
The likes of Whiteman would be an investment, we tend to focus on players looking for last pay day and have no resale value and that is shocking for long term FFP
Like the summer, we still lack pace, creativity and of course goals. Our midfield is non existent and our defenders win the ball only to pass it back to the opposition to give them another drive at us.
I agree we need to lighten the squad, but the owners should see that and realise that is of their own making and must reconsider our they go forward, as one thing is quite clear we have not got a transfer strategy and it’s killing us.
At the same time, Lot of bargains to be had this January (compared to other winter windows), great potential with the right investment could reap big rewards, so we should be taking advantage, and start building for now and for next season, and not letter other clubs to take advantage.
Lest not forget, whichever way you look at with all the loans, players end of contract in the summer going to be another big turnaround in the summer, so let’s get ahead start now!
