If funding is an issue then Olympiacos need to pay us £8m for Lolley so Marinakis and Co can show us that they are serious about us moving forward and have something to contribute rather than using our supply line of young talent to support their profligacy and mismanagement.
For me this attitude is exactly why the owners can't win. Essentially asking them to spend £10m plus on a striker, probably from Peterborough. Surely given the massive losses we made pre pandemic we can't afford that kind of fee regardless of who's paying for it.
Particularly after they blew so much on wages etc for Arter for example.
Asking them to essentially cheat FFP by overpaying for someone from Olympiacos is not really fair. Plus likely to league wouldn't let you keep the revenue in that scenario for FFP anyway if they thought it was way above market value. I feel like we've clearly pushed this source of FFP dodging to the limit already
