Yes, with the amount of DM's we now have that's Yates season over probably. Unfortunate for him, but after Walker, Smith, Worrall & Brereton, perhaps not that surprising.
We're getting ahead of ourselves if we think Yates is going to be good enough for us this season.
As someone who has followed his development I strongly disagree, no one is getting ahead of themselves.
He might not be ready to carry an entire team on his shoulders, for 46 games, but he's certainly ready to play a part, & certainly better than 7th choice & sitting at home.
I'm not saying he's not a good player and in any other season he could well have been steadily introduced into the team and then taken out as and when needed. But, AK and the club still seem to be under the impression that they're 'going for it' this season (I personally think they're delusional and we're nowhere near even being a top 6 side).
Yates hasn't even made a 1 championship start yet in his career so there's no way the club are going to have the patience to bring him through.
