There's been a lot said about the calibre of player that we've signed (and presumably are going to sign) from Olympiacos. However, I wonder if our views on these players are skewed by where they've come from?
Admittedly Bouchalakis and Kapino weren't huge successes at Forest and didn't have much of a pedigree before we'd signed them. However, if you look at the records and experience of Tachtsidis and Ansarifard (presuming he does join), they're actually not bad. Both experienced internationals with a decent amount of game time in top-flight leagues (Serie A in Tachtsidis' case). If we were signing these players from a different club would there be less cynicism and scepticism towards them? Would we look on them as somehow 'better' because we wouldn't be seeing them as Olympiacos 'castoffs?'
