The news on Rooney got me thinking.
We’ve seen no big numbers of Covid cases within football thus far and it is to be hoped this will continue.
But we’ve seen a couple of instances within Rugby’s premiership - both Wasps & Sale have recorded double digit cases & it has decimated their playing squads.
Rugby may be different - with its increased body contact - but these clubs are at the pinnacle of the professional game in England.
Just hope that this is not replicated in football ( we’ve seen a number of cases at County over the weekend ) and, it goes without saying, at the CG or Academy.
