Think he’ll be on his way - not looked happy for ages and don’t buy his injury
He looks injured to me. I said before the start of the season we'd be better resting lolley for the 1st month. We run the risk of losing him for half the season. Wonder if he's just playing games and not training?
To he fair injured or not Joe was just having one of those games where nothing was going right for him. It happens and he didn't exactly bust a gut to recover when he lost it, stood with hands on hips looking pi$$ed off with ref instead.
Re Yates, I thought he was really good today, looked really comfortable on the ball, especially 2nd half and his passing was really crisp and often drove us forwards. Wish he had scored to cap off the sort of display which reinforces my belief he will become a Premier League player in the relatively near future-still hope it's for us. He was much more comfortable as a pair than a 3.
Got to get this off my chest: Just like with Cash, Worrall and to a lesser extent Benny, there will I think be many "experts" eating their words over the coming years. As a young midfielder learning his trade he has undoubtedly had some stinkers along the way, but some of the vitriol aimed at one of our own has been pretty disgraceful. Criticism- fine. Big difference between saying "He had a sh1t game, needs dropping" as opposed to "he is sh1t and should never wear the shirt again" or similar. Like Watson, I am sure he will need half a season of top class performances before some detractors give him any credit, but with his attitude and application he is only going to get better and better.
Yates did play well today. He is improving and looking more comfortable in possession. Still sometimes heads it when he should bring it down but today he was one of the few positives. For me Taylor has got to start either on his own or with Grabban.Grabban and Lolley are way below their best at the moment.
My only criticism (if you can call it that) of yates today was he didn't try his luck from long range. On a couple of occasions he ran with the ball to within 25 yards of goal and then played the ball off to a tightly marked player in front of him, instead of having a crack at goal. We all know he has got a decent shot on him, maybe let him unleash it occasionally.

I think Yates, Freeman and Ameobi were all very good today
I often think this, and have for many years, but pertinent to now is, I would love it if we could start off the next game playing the same way we finished the game today, Taylor and Mighten could work really well

Sabri-ball could have worked last week, if not for an individual error by Figs and Grabs missing good chances.
Similar story today, Figs losing his man and Grabban putting it over from 3 yards.
I'd like to see us be more positive, but coaches can be stubborn and you could make an argument for it being individuals not the approach that cost the results. It's possible we see him persist with the approach, but with a change of personnel; Christie in for Jenks & Blackett in for Figs.
Against a poor Huddersfield side, it could well work too. However I wonder if Lolley's poor form / injury / whatever is the problem might accelerate a change in style.

If Lolley is rested/dropped then that might push Sabri into playing Taylor alongside Grabban. I just cant see him dropping Grabban.

Maybe people should look at the players? Sabri said yesterday after the game he had them working all week on defending set plays, long throws and winning 2nd balls.

Too many cooks or not - it’s just not working at the moment both on & off the field.

Forest look good when attacking with tempo. They have to start games like this, they have to score first.
Yates was very good. he played the ball forwards and took on a lot more responsibility yesterday, may that continue.
Grabban has been poor for a while now, I was very happy when he got subbed. Grabban is an excellent CF but we have relied too much on him for two years now.
Taylor needs to start, he is a lot more aggressive and things start to heat up even more when Guerrero came on.
Ameobi played well and once again, taking responsibility and when Mighten came on there were crosses from inside the box. He should get more game time, maybe even starting to raise the tempo and get behind defenders from the start.
Figs need to be dropped, he has put the team under pressure in both games so far. Forest are not a team that can cope with going 1-0 down at the moment, his errors have cost us dearly.
More players need to take responsibility, too much reliance on Lolley and Grabban in the past.

Yates has been our best player in last 2 games- he has hit the bar twice! His performance yesterday was excellent - especially second half. Ameobi too.
I also agree that lolley, figgs and grabban need dropping for their own good.

That is what I was thinking. MON was employed to be the manager/coach of Marinakis club not to run it. It's not 1979 anymore.
