Nottingham Forest - Cardiff City
I think there is a real disconnect at the top level. O’Neil recently said too many having too much say. Carvalho training away - a club decision- really strange recruitment - 5 right backs!!!!
More than a manager I think we need a proper director of football who knows what they’re doing for the medium and long term. We’ve spunked so much money on poor signings it’s unbelievable. Bong, jenkinson, da Costa.
However, on paper we have signed some great championship players - colback, freeman, Taylor and Blackett.

One of the issues throughout the club is that the only solution, every window, is to add more players to the squad, like it’s some kind of magic solution.

We keep bringing in so many nobodies who don’t contribute enough.

Da Costa is a great example, I don’t think Mighten is ready but he would have been better off getting the minutes that Nuno has since he signed.

Exactly. Investment was needed in January yet we get 9 players now on the back of selling our POTY again! We don’t seem to have anyone looking at the bigger picture and just seem to be repeating the scattergun approach we had under Karanka. The players look a shadow of what they were like at their best last year. Lolley grabban figgs samba and Worrall look beReft of any confidence.

Coaching Staff “I need a centre half”

Randall “No, you have Benalouane, Hefele, Dawson, Figuredo, Worrall. Five are plenty and costing us in excess of £50k per week combined”

Coaching Staff “We’ve sold Cash, I need a right back”

Randall “No, we’ve got Darwika, Jenkinson, Gabriel and Richardson, four is plenty and you can only play one, plus they’re costing us £30k per week combined. Shift two out and we’ll bring one in”

Coaching Staff “I need another Goalkeeper, Samba has not been professional at times”

Randall “You are the coach, coach what you’ve got, plus you agreed to extend Jordan’s contract”

And so on.

Someone in the Club is deeply failing in their job.

Hence the disconnect. The decision making is fragmented - and comes from not having a proper DOF. I doubt Randall has any say in recruitment - just a figurehead. Ventroz and doukouras (sp) have that role then Modesto and anigo. Too many cooks...

“ Wow. This is the first time since the 1954/55 season that Forest have lost their first two league matches AND failed to score in both.

They went on to finish 15th in Division Two that season.”

He should be stepping in but regardless I used his name for illustrative purposes.

Apparently Cardiff have won six games on a trot at the City Ground.

Also the first time we have lost the first two opening matches in 49 years.

Think he’ll be on his way - not looked happy for ages and don’t buy his injury

He looks injured to me. I said before the start of the season we'd be better resting lolley for the 1st month. We run the risk of losing him for half the season. Wonder if he's just playing games and not training?

To he fair injured or not Joe was just having one of those games where nothing  was going right for him. It happens and he didn't exactly bust a gut to recover when he lost it, stood with hands on hips looking pi$$ed off with ref instead.

Re Yates, I thought he was really good today, looked really comfortable on the ball, especially 2nd half and his passing was really crisp and often drove us forwards. Wish he had scored to cap off the sort of display which reinforces my belief he will become a Premier League player in the relatively near future-still hope it's for us. He was much more comfortable as a pair than a 3.

Got to get this off my chest: Just like with Cash, Worrall and to a lesser extent Benny, there will I think be many "experts" eating their words over the coming years. As a young midfielder learning his trade he has undoubtedly had some stinkers along the way, but some of the vitriol aimed at one of our own has been pretty disgraceful. Criticism- fine. Big difference between saying "He had a sh1t game, needs dropping" as opposed to "he is sh1t and should never wear the shirt again" or similar. Like Watson, I am sure he will need half a season of top class performances before some detractors give him any credit, but with his attitude and application he is only going to get better and better.

Yates did play well today. He is improving and looking more comfortable in possession. Still sometimes heads it when he should bring it down but today he was one of the few positives. For me Taylor has got to start either on his own or with Grabban.Grabban and Lolley are way below their best at the moment.

Nicely put. Agreed.

I don’t know if this has been said but the captain (even though sabri says he has a ‘team’ of captains) in my eyes has to be either a center half or Center mid. How can Grabban captain the team all the way at the front of the pitch? You need someone to be constantly on at you to be better to do things better to be in a better position a Center forward can’t do that.

Also how does Figs get muscled off the ball for the first goal? Was he worried if he tried to much he’d concede another penalty? Isn’t it more proof he needs to earn his place back?
