He is still here isn't he?

He'll be in the team if Ribeiro gets injured.

To be to pick up flawed talent and try to polish it up again?

Dunno what the strategy is but, if you want to look at the facts, this season we finished higher up the league while bringing in an overall profit on transfer fees. Not a bad strategy for a standard Championship team like us.

Yet again it comes back to this. Do we randomly buy and sell on a whim? Sell our academy talent and spunk it on someone with a dodgy injury record or who has never played in England?

Or do Modesto and Anigo who are apparently unsackable actually have a PLAN?

The headline result looks fine until you scratch beneath the surface. Everything seems so random and scattergun it looks that they are making it up as they go along. And when it doesnt work you blame the head coach.

I don't know that it is random and scattergun to be honest. Anigo and Modesto have been in the job for one season, same as Lamouchi, they've brought in Samba who is first choice keeper, Ribeiro who is first choice LB, Silva and Sow who for the most part have been first choice midfielders and Sammy Ameobi who has been first choice winger, they scrambled to bring in a decent right back when Darikwa got injured on the eve of the season starting and found Jenkinson and given the situation perhaps had to overpay, they brought Chema in who looked a good signing but obviously didn't settle so when he left they replaced him with an experienced backup LB in Bong. When goals had become an issue in Jan they recalled Walker who was scoring for fun and bought in Da Costa (who Lamouchi wanted by most accounts), those moves haven't worked out but neither were they overly expensive mistakes and Da Costa has shown he has a bit about him and could still be a fine player at this level given time. I'll grant you that the loan signings this season have been poor and so has Adomah. But I'm really not sure they've done so awfully in their first season at the job.

Seems to be that the strategy is to look for talent that is cheap and has a resale value along with freebie signings along with loans.

In regards to loan signings, this is where we struggle, we seem to wait until the last minute and panic, and as we have seen with the likes of Diakhaby they simply aren't good enough and this is where our problems lay, the whole system and strategy has to be looked at and changed.

If this is true (not convinced) then it ads to what we already have in recruitment and it doesn't replace it.
