Season 2019/20 Can We Finally Go Up?

Said this past night before the game I'd of taken a loss against Charlton if we beat WBA. So we've done the easy bit...

They're beatable.

But Forest need their best 11. And that's where the balance of power is regarding any promotion hopes.

Forest need those '5' players back for WBA.

Perhaps not but then they probably would have been missing for the next 6 weeks.

Well that’s just complete guess work aswell. Unless you actually do know what the supposedly injuries were. 

Truth is Sabri well and truly f****d up last night. He needs to take every game seriously not just against the top teams. But he also should’ve got better support from the two transfers bloke’s in terms of actual quality we brought in in January. No adequate cover for sicknote Sow and nobody of real quality to compliment and cover Grabban.

I wonder what the mood would be had the games been played in reverse order.
ie we played Charlton on Saturday and lost.
We played Leeds last night and won.

Suspect everyone would be buzzing, back up to 5th place, 2pts off auto, bring on West Brom.
I think we have the same shortcomings as most teams, need to look from the outside in sometimes.

Sabri.  He ****** up.  He ****** big time.  He knows that.  He held his hand up for that one.  He could have at least played the fullbacks and ground out the draw.

But I don't think he's alone in that.  We know (and I'm sure recruitment as the club know this) Sow and Forest's results are intertwined.  But he, Grabban and Ame' where doubts.  I'll have to take him at his word.

Though, not for the 1st time, the 'plan b' shows you can't take your opposition for granted even against 'team who hasn't won since the stone age...' In short, he hasn't got it right all the time. And the amount of 'points' just tossed away this season, not even being out classed by the opposition, just the points tossed away suggest it's going to be an almost season. Which. Is progress.

If SoW or Grabban get a hamstring tear playing against Charlton with their 'minor injuries' then the season is over as Forest will drop like a stone out of the top 6 like they did the last time with Sow's lay of.  You only have to see what happened to WBA after they lost their 'best player.'

That won't stop the feeling that the loss to Charlton could have been avoided.  I hope Lee Bowyer, Charlton are relegated.

I remember when Charlton fans were suddenly above Curbishly in the Premier.  What's happened since?  Karma.

Of course everyone would be buzzing.

Forest can't, currently defy the reality of their progress.  And that is 'off the field' as much on it.  And that is just where 'improving' Forest are.  In fact, The Coach is probably working miracles to be where Forest are in the table.  Add to that the points tossed away from winning positions and the games thrown away like the experiments at Charlton?

A fully fit 1st eleven is top 6 or top 2.  IF they can keep Sow or Grabban fit.  If any of those two get injured I don't see it.  Maybe Sow and no Grabban they 'might' hold on to the top 6.

But their season hangs by two threads.

We are in the mix and at this stage we can't ask for more. We've not broke into the top 2 all season. Just imagine if we did it on the very last day!

If we end up in the play offs then I hope we go into them with form and momentum. I remember Villa's momentum last season and it carried them over the line to the PL.

Its so tight id imagine spots 2 to 6 will all only be sorted on the last day. 

Its been an unbelievably even league this year. Ive really enjoyed it.

Earlier is season we did go top for a game, so have broken in top 2

All we can do is concentrate on us and look to put some sort of winning run together to make top 6 ours. At the moment we are on course to make 74 points which is normally the target for 6th but with things being so tight we really want to be out of the last day who gets it race, especially with our goal difference.

I don’t know when it will be our year to go up if ever but I do feel we should be making it our aim, regardless if as a team we are ready or not, as you can’t predict what will happen next season with strong teams coming down and teams being able to sort themselves out over the summer. It’s our best chance for a while so lets give the team everything we can to give them the best possible chance.
