I've just noticed that of all the new arrivals only Jenkinson and Samba got 3 & 4 year deals respectively.
The rest are on 2 year contracts; Rodriguez, Ribeiro, Sow, Silva, Adomah and of course Ameobi on 1.
Definitely some squad management going on here.

So this summer, we spent approx £5.8m on Transfer fees (not inc loan fees) bringing in the 12 players…..

And sold (approximately) £15.5m worth of players and reduced the wage bill considerably with all those frees and loans (doesn’t include loan fees received).

All sounds too sensible to me. I miss the good old days when we paid over the odds and put ourselves in real financial difficultly. The days where we had drama every day and everyone on forums had more to discuss and have a breakdown over, than just the team performance.

Turnover of players is way too high. Stability is what we crave. Another turnover next summer without promotion with fewer assets. If robbo and Ameobi earn new deals and some more astute signings made then I may feel we have made progress and have the core we need.

The turnover of players seems fine considering our players haven’t been good enough to challenge for a top six place. Many of the squad players just haven’t been good enough. It has been a survival of the fittest by natural selection process.

Turnover has been high but can any of us suggest that AK was wrong when he decided that the group of players he inherited, and who performed with such apathy in that Preston game, needed a wholesale dumping?

Now we have a squad who can develop together and who all appear to be going in the same direction, not looking for a way out of the club or prepared to sit-out on a juicy contract. It's been many years since it's been that way IMO. The next test for the owner will be to back Sabri when the team hits an inevitable bad patch of form.

Im only guessing but I wonder if Clough has some non football related issues. Hugely disappointing yes but I would cut him some slack, you never know whats going on in peoples lives.

Wasn't he involved in a car accident that resulted in someone losing their life (not 100% sure).
