The 2019 Summer Clearout

Don’t know what the release clause is in his contract, but around £12m+ and he’s gone which is the reality of our situation having been out of EPL for far too long.

I would be gutted if Joe went to the blades, I dislike them as much as Leeds and Liverpool, will never forgive them at BCs last game.

Im not a great lover of the Blades myself but at Clough’s last game they all sang his name?

I was in the Trent End SM and there were some Blades fans in there. Trust me they were not singing his name, I’ve detested them ever since.

We don't have/need to sell any of our best players, so unless Lolley actually wants to leave, which I don't believe he does, then he will be here next season.

Thats my recollection too. The entire ground was singing in appreciation of his career.

He was a prem player before and did nowt up there. Firstly I think he likes playing for us, secondly likes being a first team regular and lastly being the superstar at a club.
He's an intelligent lad who I hope will have the nounce to be able to see through an agent trying to cash in.

^ This.

This is the summer clearout thread, why the hell would we clearout Joe Lolley?

I don't think it would be MONS decision if one of those two were to be sold.

We shouldn't blame MON if that happens.

No manager ever wants to sell his best players. That decision would be taken at board level.

MoN is far from being stupid; if he wanted to keep both players and one or both were sold from under him, he would find a way of making sure everyone was aware of that.

There is always the possibility that he approaches the board with a shopping list of players he wants to get promotion; the board could say fine go and sign the players but one of these two must be sold to finance everything.

I doubt that will happen; we do not need too many additions to have a squad capable of competing and our financial position is good, getting better.

we are in a very good place in regards FFP but we wont be able to spend as much this summer, unless ofcourse we finance it by the sale of some players.

By my calculations the really big clear out will come next season.

Out of this seasons playing staff the following will have their loans terminated at the end of the Month:
Colback
Wague
Goncalves
Janko
Byram
Pele
Bonatini

The following players contracts run out at the end of the month:
Ward
Henderson
Walker (is that correct?)

The following players contracts run out in the summer of 2020
Geddy
Benalouane
Ansfarid
Yacob
Robinson
Milosivic
Tachsidis
Vellios
Cummings
Bridcutt
Watson
Murphy
Aryibi
Grant
Lam - on loan to Zwolle until 2020

The following players contracts run out in the summer of 2021
Yates
Darikwa
Soudani
Pantilimon
Clough
Hefele

The following players contracts run out in the summer of 2022
Worrall
Grabben
Figeureda

The following players contracts run out in the summer of 2023
Lolley
Appiah

That is 10 gone this season and potentially 14 the following season

The actual situation is not as bad as the one perceived

Two years ago we were relegation fodder, that’s why we needed to spend big to get into the top half of the table. We now have a decent squad though not promotion standard..... whoever the manager is. We are probably in need of three or four quality players to take us to the next level. That can be done with a mixture of permanent signings and loans. We also have young players like Cash and Yates whom you would hope for development from. Then of course Carvalho is in his second season and therefore more familiar with demands of the league. Then finally, MON and Roy get a full pre season with the squad.

Lots to look forward to without massive outlays. There might however be a larger number heading out of the door.
