On Savona, I thought he played well in that little period where we beat Liverpool and Man United. There seems to be a reasonable player in there.
Certainly knows where the net is for a defender

Savona is also a central defender who was playing full back through necessity, so I would be loathe to judge him on what he has done to date.

Its the other way round, he is a RB who plays CB if needed.
His stats show him playing RB every season since U17 except for one season in 23/24 where he played 27 games at CB.

He isn’t good enough as a right back at this level for me. He either becomes a centre back or moves on. Think he would work in a back 3 but we rarely play that way, don’t see him getting much game time. Not saying I have anything against the lad just my opinion.

Savona is young and can improve though.
He got thrust straight in because of Aina's injury which was not really the plan.
Don't think we have seen the best of him yet.

Retained list announced. Gunn, Ortega, Boly and Lucca the non-returning ones from the first-team squad.

No surprises there. Ortega's going to be a great signing for someone. Good luck to the guy, hope a gets a club where he can be first choice.

Not far off I'd say. He didn't quite get to Diakhaby levels, but that's a really low bar to be fair.
