25/26 Recruitment

My current thought is could we have bought one less winger then been able to afford to buy out Marco Silva’s release clause?

Why sign Angus Gunn and then a bloody Brazilian nobody who takes his place on the bench?

It just shows you how poorly planned and unorganised the recruitment has been again this season.

Gunn is a good goalkeeper and a good backup to Sels. But he is not Brazilian, so he spends his Saturdays like FFTV watching Sky Sports.

In fairness to John, he has been called up to the Brazil national team so he’s not exactly a nobody. He looks better than Carlos Miguel who didn’t work at all for us

Don't all squads have 3 goalkeepers in them?

We are no different to anyone else.

Yep, Nuno wanted three keepers last season and again this, I thought it was fairly standard. Have to presume who ever makes the bench, keeper wise, does so on merit not nationality

Are we really questioning the signing of a third senior keeper? Surely every prem club has 3 keepers who would be considered to be semi-reliable if they were ever called upon?

It only takes a red card for your no 1 and then the third guy is required in the next game. You cant chuck an 18 year old apprentice into that situation in a prem or Europa League game. They'd get slaughtered if they were required to be played.

John was pretty decent at Swansea, a marked improvement on Miguel.

I’ve not seen Gunn play for some time so don’t know if he’s any good.

Gunn plays international games for Scotland so he cant be a chump.

Can’t he?!

Sounds like an oxymoron to me :)

We brought in 14 of which the only 2 starters today are loaned.

We were told we needed 4 wingers so we signed 3 more. No wingers start.

We bought 6 forwards totalling £170m. None of them start. 4 worth around £120m aren’t in the squad.

Someone make it make sense.
