Apologies Sniff for posting in the wrong forum but I think it's worth posting about. The text of Palace's appeal says that as an alternative to them being promoted back to the Europa and us being put back into the Conference League they're requesting that Lyon be demoted.

I wonder if that opens a scenario where both us and Palace are in the Europa?

If Lyon are indeed a separate entity they aren’t going to accept that lying down. There isn’t really a precedent for it either.

Reading the Athletic article again, the comments by parish suggesting there was another club pushing for promotion otherwise we'd have been in is pretty defamatory. Also, just a blatant lie, the idea that UEFA would or could change their own rules due to pressure from one club is utterly ludicrous.

Whether it gets overturned or not, Parish's attempts to deflect his club's issues onto us will not be forgotten. I feel like we have a new rival! I bet Sky will hype it up to, 2nd week of the season.

Despite all the evidence to the contrary I'm still not counting my chickens on this and wouldn't be surprised one bit if CAS come up with some convoluted way of readmitting Palace.

There's nothing to suggest that should or will happen but it'd be sod's law that it will.
