Harry Kane under massive pressure. All of a sudden he is 31 and looks miles off it.

He should retire and focus on keeping fit for Munich. Yes he might bag on Tuesday but it's always going to happen playing against weak opponents in a quality side.

Start to think about the next world cup.

I didn't realise that and he absolutely deserves that cap and I hope he scores.

Is there anyone coming through though to replace him?

Not convinced Watkins is the answer.

Haaland was born in England. If only…

Did we actively pursue him? It was obvious as a teenager before he was committed to Norway that he was something special. Another thing to thank Southgate for?

Haaland is Norwegian, even if he was born in Leeds. Always going to follow in his dad's foot steps.

Milenkovic captained Serbia in 2-0 defeat to Denmark. Not an unexpected result and Serbia are a middle ranking side but it still says something about a players character when they captain a national team. 58 caps and only 26 years old is some achievement.

They kept a clean sheets against Spain last week too.

Agreed, not impossible we use it as a way to shoe horn another winger in eg Foden, Palmer etc.

Even if Kane is not a starter at the next WC though, he's a pretty decent bench option. I definitely wouldn't want him to be retiring.

Yes I meant for his own good by preserving his fitness. I wouldn't want him away from the squad just yet.

Just time to start trying different options.

Yeah I think you are right that with two years to prep for the next WC we should be considering alternative options and formations that don't involve him. Maybe by the next break Watkins will be fitter and we can experiment. Solanke a possible option in the future if he hits the ground running at Spurs (big If of course)

Unless the future manager believes Kane is fit enough to be the starter in 2026 I suppose.

Lewandowski is on polish bench most games now. That's how should be for the older goalscorers
