Nottingham Forest midfielder Ryan Yates has signed a new and improved contract with the club.

The 26-year-old’s existing deal was due to expire next summer but his new terms will run until June 2028.

Richly deserved

Yep, good old Yatesy. Must be painful watching these outsiders coming in and earning 4 or 5 times as much as you are.

Especially since every midfielder signed in the last 5 years has supposedly been “an upgrade on Yates” and he has gone on to outperform every single one of them. Well done Ryan.

Great news, well deserved, hopefully he can once again earn his place on the field next season.

Madforit must be livid right now.

Madforit and Greenman both ripping up their season tickets as we speak.

I'd like to see CHO sign an extended contract and hopefully Aina gets a longer term one as the season plays out

The current mood in the squad looks fantastic based on the training videos. We have really talented core and hopefully we can keep some stability while only adding a few more quality players. Getting very excited about this season now

Yup. Get those few signings that we need, keep our key players and move on the fringe ones and we'd be in a great position.

In theory anyway.

He’s obviously not being featured heavily but worrall kinda looks like the kids getting picked last for a team, maybe some friendship bridges were burnt? Cus no matter if he’s in nunos plans or not you’d expect him to be in on the banter etc. whereas Dennis is really in the middle of things (not that that means we’ll keep him either)

Murillo is right though. He's playing in the prem he knows the move is coming. One more season and he can go to Madrid and start instead of rotating. Probably got an eye on the Brazil squad.

The young South Americans we have and our vision this summer must have swayed him.

With stability this team can achieve.

It’ll be nice to see Elanga really pushed this season, he dropped off and we had to play origi :/ but it was also his first season as first choice so a nice bit of competition can’t hurt

TBH, he is the replaceable forward in our team, too many rash last-minute decisions be it shots or passes, can easily see him falling out the side if Jota finds his feet.

He seems to have a better footballing brain.
