What did GNev say?

Everyone should be allowed to spend the same amount and should be based on highest revenue club. One bit he added that I liked is clubs with smaller revenue only so much is club debt, the rest is owners money.

The devil would be in the detail, but the principal of being able to spend the same amount sounds appealing in a way, isn't that what they do in F1?

That definitely sounds fairer than what they have voted through. Would still stop a Newcastle overspending too.

It's pretty similar to how the salary cap works in the NFL.

IIRC he also suggested club owners should have to place a bond with the prem (or whoever) to honor the commitments of the club if it goes pop. Cant see many club owners voting for a system which requires them to pay out millions and millions of pounds up front before they bring players in.

It's how it works in the NFL, it does rely on owners having a lot of cashflow to be able to put it up front rather than as it happens. I think it seems sensible though.

Huge match tonight. I really don't like Bournemouth but I've never wanted them to win a match more.

Hopefully, Solanke does the business, and the Bournemouth players do us a favour. (I can see Luton getting something though I'm afraid.)

What a week this could turn out to be...

If Luton win tonight we will be in the bottom three going into the match at the weekend before any points deduction

We could conceivably be 9 points behind Luton by Sunday if the worse we’re to happen this week.
