Personally I don't think they will, they are more likely to blame EM instead but it's the fans keeping Steve in the job and sending us down the table towards the relegation zone.
I agree though with a lot of what Jackbadhobitts said above, he makes some good points.
It’s actually got quite odd now and frankly Im amazed he is apparently being given another game. I am as pro Cooper as it gets but at some point you have to be realistic.
I think the reaction of the away fans at the last 2 games has simply been one of assuming he is going and an appreciative goodbye. Im sure everyone will be up for it on Friday at the CG but what happens when we are simply outplayed by a better team? Think it will go a bit flat and most realise when the party is over.
Ultimately as Ive said you cannot have the situation where a manager is under threat every game and the pressure that brings so we need a firm decision one way or the other for the good of the club. Cooper has got his old guard who he trusts to over perform one last time and grind out a result at Wolves but can he find a way back for the rest of the squad who we we'll need to survive let alone progress. To be honest I have lost that faith, EM is braver than me if he chooses to stick.

Yes good post SM and I agree with your points.
I am not pro Cooper but I am not a Cooper out hardliner either.
God knows how EM must be feeling. I think the feedback he got from Dourekas and Milto following various meetings with players and staff after Fulham has saved Steve for now but like you said SM as soon as we lose another match it will all blow up again.

I don’t really understand how recent results have shown that
Cooper is the right man. Sentimentality won’t keep us up. Getting hammered 5-0 by Fulham and then following it up with a 1-1 draw at Wolves is hardly a complete turnaround. This is following a run of winnable games where we haven’t performed. I can’t really understand the logic in giving Cooper another game when the writing is already on the wall

It does seem like we are just drifting along. Not exactly a ship without a Captain but aimlessly drifting.

I get the Fan Support to a degree but the last few days the Cooper Love in has been ridiculous. I want us to attack teams most of the game not defend for most of the game.
i disagree. We have tried a game plan with more possession and territory but it hasn’t worked. We are not yet good enough to outplay most premier league teams. Longer term i agree this is the only approach which will progress us up the league but the squad isn’t yet of enough quality. For now we need to re-deploy the formula which kept us up last season. Low block, counter attack. We did that on saturday and were better. The problem with that though is that it was reliant on Taiwo,s mobility. Unfortunately our front men at the moment do not have the ability to replicate what he is able to do. Wood is a statue and Elanga doesn’t have a football brain to make the intelligent runs required. Maybe bring Hwang back from Norwich in January.

My personal opinion is at this stage after the result on Saturday that it is the right time to make a change where everyone can do what's right for us and everyone's stock is in a good place with us not taking another battering.
It really looked like a goodbye after the game from Cooper so I think he thought he would be leaving.
This is on the basis that one of our managerial targets has agreed to takeover.

I can't get the picture up. But there's a table that shows that in the whole of 2023. That Chelsea are the only team to pick up less points than us.. the captain is slowly taking us down

That’s what I thought tbh, Leave on a high, Thank him for everything he has done, And gave
Presumably Lopetegui the week to get his ideas across.

Does feel like it’s time. The away support in the last two games has been to thank Steve for everything he has done for us.

This is always the million dollar question owners must ask themselves when contemplating a change. Will it work. For a lot of teams in the premier league over recent seasons, it hasn’t. Leeds sacked Bielsa. Most leeds fans will say that turned out to be a very bad decision. They tried another change which didn’t work. Leicesters change didn’t work but some would say they didn’t sack Rodger’s soon enough. EM needs to get it right and it isn’t obvious to me another manager is going to come along and get better results. Let’s build on Wolves performance. We were much better and probably the better side. If EM was confident he could get a new manager who would get better results than Cooper, he would have done it already. Be careful what you wish for.

Slightly off topic but just because Mendes is onboard it doesn't mean that every player or manager we sign is going to be a Mendes client. We are not putting all our eggs in one basket. Of course Mendes has his own agency but he also works along side other agencies too.
