Nuno Espirito Santo (Wolves)
Karanka (Boro)
Slavisa Jokanovic (Watford)
They are just the ones who come to mind straight away.
Karanka/Jokanovic had played in the UK though. Nuno inherited a team that basically bought the league, the other obviously did well.
Now get the list of every single one that has failed. It will be a lot longer.
Karanka played in England, enlighten me?
Has Cooper?

how many would have said yes ?
definetly not me although I would of taken Shelvey at the time
I was keen to sign *Wood and was open to Shelvey.
As was I Wassy.
And I dont care what everyone else thinks, I still think they're both good players. Just not been used correctly. Especially Wood, who made his debut having not had a single training session with the squad. He didnt have a chance to impress in that game and in subsequent games the shape or approach of the side has not changed in any way to accommodate his strengths. Not his fault.

Yeah he only had a few admittedly uninpsiring appearances then got injured. Would be my only real criticism of Cooper this year, why sign Wood then try and play him like Awoniyi. We had to change tactics around him or not play him. Think he'll do well next year if we go down still.

I dont Wassy (be good next season). To get the best out of him you need wingers chucking crosses in. Cooper doesnt set up like that. Strikers have to play wide it seems according to Cooper.

This season is probably lost but if we get Gerrard in over Cooper then next season is lost as well.
Maybe next year we somehow snag Keinan because Watford don't pay for him at the end of this season and we have a monster three of wood, Taiwo and Keinan.
I cannot see Johnson being here next season. He will be gone to a more established Prem side.
If Coops goes then MGW will probably go too. He would be devastating in the Champ.
We are not done yet because Everton are just as rubbish as us but we are on life support.

Latest athletic piece by PT is damning. Beginning of the end with supportive journos being briefed? Or at least being critical.

I read it as a defence of Cooper if anything. He pretty much said what the group of us have been saying on here, Cooper has to take some blame but also that there are a lot of other factors too that have made it challenging.

Finishing 17th was considered an amazing feat - we’re not far off that. It’s not been a disaster, it’s just really tough in the premier league..especially when you’ve been out of it for 23 years

Its not helped that for the first time in a while there hasnt been a team looking doomed since August, Norwich Sheff Utd, West Brom, Cardiff in recent years have all been dire, then its one less relegation place to worry about.
Southampton probably the weakest team but even they have something a bit of quality and fight. Expected Bournemouth to be weak but thier January business looks to have been inspired.

I think Bournemouth were also better than they looked last year, just held back by having Parker as manager.

And every team apart from us has spend 100s of millions over several years
Don’t lose heart yet
If we do go down, I’d rather have had this year than another championship season

Absolutely. Its been painful at times but worth it simply for those moments against Liverpool and Man City. Hugely important to get it right first time if we go down again so we don’t completely have to rebuild from scratch.
