Alot of good points made here.
I think it's worth mentioning that half time vs Leicester has proved to be a bit of a turning point. (Hopefully that continues). If memory serves, we brought on Yates and Aurier who have been 2 of our best performers since.
Not only that, although a little simplistic, that seems to be the point from which we've played in a way that has generally (Arsenal and ManU away aside) looked more solid as if the realisation that having an attacking line up does not necessarily put us on the front foot in this league but not having the tools to deal with the opposition when they are on front foot is terminal.
Although 2nd half was horrible last night, we couldn't keep hold of the ball etc.. they all worked nuts off to stop them even having a half decent chance. After all the praise I've garnered on Freuler recently he probably had his worst half of football for us in many ways, but he stayed on because of his sheer work rate to help protect the lead.
Interesting that MOTD highlighted many peoples recent scapegoat Jonno for his outstanding performance plenty of FB managers would have had him on the bench.
I think last night showed just how difficult it is to get an away result in this league. They are all really difficult places to go. Just makes our fantastic loud home support even more important going forward to keep the points totting up at WFCG.

Just to put in into perspective but Liverpool have only picked up 8 away points so far this season only 3 more than us. So as Zicorice is right it is very difficult to pick up away points in this league. So you have to take every chance you are given. Result over performance when you play away.

That's a really interesting stat. Even more so given that we really *should* have three more away points after letting Everton equalise and missing the penalty against Wolves.

Conversely the only team I felt outplayed us at home and deserved the 3 points is Fulham. Even then we could have got something but for a defensive collapse.
Poor goals against Spurs and Bournemouth in games we should have won.
VAR against Brentford.
Could have potentially lost points against West Ham and Palace I suppose. Villa was a poor game so a point each was about right.
Swings and roundabouts I guess.

We were absolutely battered against West Ham! Didn't they hit the bar three times and miss a penalty? Agree on the the others though, Spurs game was there for the taking.

My rubbish use of language at start, the ones who took 3 points AND deserved it probably would have been clearer.

I've noticed people are still citing our away form as a cause of concern. I thought I'd try and alleviate that. Whilst we are currently 19th in the away league table we are one of 6 teams with only one win. There are another 4 teams with 2 away wins so that is half the league with only 1 or 2 away wins so far this season.
It feels pretty clear to me that away wins are hard to come by at this level (making them all the more precious if you manage one)
We still have West Ham, Spurs, Villa, Liverpool, Brentford, Chelsea, Palace plus a rearranged game vs Leeds to come.
So only one top 6 side remaining away although Liverpool, Chelsea and Brentford (to a lesser extent) will be tough obviously and unlikely to yield an away win (although draws achievable)
That leaves games vs Villa, Palace, Leeds and West Ham. Our survival will likely come down to the home games but if we want to make it a little more comfortable, these are the games to target (particularly Leeds obviously). If we could win just one of these games it will have a massive impact on our season.
Anyway, the point I wanted to make is that winning away is hard, we aren't the only team that finds this difficult but that we have a lot of mid table or lower still to come so despair too much just yet!

On another day we might have pinched a point on Saturday. We were second best for an hour and Fulham hit the woodwork three times from shots outside the penalty area but we had chances to equalise and controlled possession for the last 30 minutes. It’s probably the first time I have seen us away from home in the premier league, take some control.

14 more points keeps us up.
Our remaining home games are tough, realistically 3 wins and a draw, 10 points.
Therefore need to find 4 away points from somewhere. 4 0-0 draws or a squeaky 0-1 and a draw will do.

I don't honestly see us winning another away game this season, got to eek out the draws if we can at a few. It's become such a psychological barrier for now.
At home however, we've looked strong all season-even when losing. That'd what will keep us up...and no more injured CBs

This us exactly my point, its not a psychological barrier, it's just hard! Hence the other 9 teams with only 1 or 2 away wins.
There's plenty of chances for another away win starting at West Ham.

It's still shit.
I haven't checked but it must be the worst in the whole four divisions.
