I remember that and I also remember how cold it was I don't think I have ever been so cold at a football match and that includes the second leg in Glasgow.

Well there is a guy in the picture being led away wearing shorts which is normal for Glasgow.
The game was before my time but that pic looks pretty scary, a potential Hillsborough like situation ?

Nottingham Forest fans prepare for the trip to Madrid for the European Cup Final in 1980. Looks like Mount Street bus station. I went on the bus from the Jubilee Club, one night in San Sebastian and then onto Madrid the following day.

That was quite often the norm in those days Sal if there was a big crowd in attendance. It was bad when the crowd pushed down, particularly if you had a crush barrier in front of you. Me and my mates had that one sussed pretty early on lol. We stood halfway down the Trent End, just right of the goal, in front of a crush barrier, we hardly ever got pushed down as a result, although it was absolutely carnage when we scored. People talk about limbs in this day and age. That is nothing to the limbs and bodies back in the day. I too remember that game and yes it was bloody freezing, especially walking alongside the Trent before and after the match. If I recall it all kicked off in the Market Square a couple of hours before kick off
