Thoughts On The Next Nottingham Forest Manager
i'd stick with Reid for a while, at least while he has the bounce, he changed things and did stuff managers do that win football games, think it's Barnsley and then Brum after, stuttering sides that Reid knows enough about and he knows his way around the city ground very well. A win against Barnsley he is heading for legendary status already as in we can relax a bit and enjoy our weekends.

Reid is very humble. I think also that many, many managers have golden time of unprecedented success which rarely repeats, the success foundation is probably founded on there original time as assistant or backroom staff where they found a way to function effectively within the club.

Let the results decide

I think it is too late for Reid, Cooper could be announced as early as this afternoon.

Heard something interesting yesterday take it or leave it. We interviewed Wilder and he actually turned the job down before we turned to Cooper so it was probably during the international break.

That is exactly what I thought Oz which is why I said take it or leave it. Although it was only according to shit journos like Nixon. Not doubting my source I believe him 100% and it would also make sense why DT kept saying that it won't be Wilder.

Wild speculation but if it is true the actions since would make sense. The club don't look like they got their second choice and got rejected so save face. Wilder shows he wants other jobs and maintains a good relationship with the board for future opportunities despite the rejection.

Would also perhaps explain the delay in getting the appointment done as the international break did make more sense.

Again, wild speculation regardless

A key comment from Reid post-match yesterday was how much he credited the win to the new analytical system at the club which Murphs has bought with him. That makes me more optimistic about cooper, as if Dane is driving the ship forward with Coops steering it, Coops will be more of a fine-tuner than anything. So we may see more of what we got yesterday.

I would have loved us to have got Wilder, but Cooper makes a lot of sense still.

Interesting.

Wilder would want more control than Hughton probably got.  And unless Wilder had that 'control' he probably wouldn't want the job.  I doubt he'd go into a 'coach' type set up.  Pity.

Forest probably want a 'coaching' model (it seems) and it will probably be Cooper.  Seems to dovetail where the Forest ship is sailing.

Ironic that the days of a Brian Clough type manager at Forest are over.

In short, yes.

Could be.

Yes.  Forest have been on the ropes for a while and normally appoint successors very quickly.  The fact they didn't says 'something.'

A link to Cooper's 1st signing? Swansea's Jay Fulton? Is this an upgrade on Yates and a battle general with experience?

He won't be cheap? His recently signed deal takes him until 2024.

Would rather have Grimes who’s move to Fulham didn’t happen in the Summer
