Mine is Taylor if you hadn't worked it out.

Freeman for me, can't believe we didn't score after he came on

Samba seemed to have the sun in his eyes, but had to get his body behind the shot. Great pass to set up their goal, though. And they hit the post twice.

Still  think we'd have won if Lolley hadn't popped his hamstring- he was looking back to his best, and about to pull the trigger.

I haven't watched to goal back, but didn't the shot come in from the BC side, in which case the sun wouldve been behind Samba or at least to the side of him?

I used to be very down on goalkepeer who wore a cap, until I had to go in goal once, late in a match, with the sun blazing into my eyes & suddenly I was looking to get my hands on one.

The sun is a constant, it was here before we were & it will be here after we've gone, so if it is ever a problem then a goalkeeper needs to be prepared & able to adapt, especially at his home ground, where he ha the advantage of familiarity.

Nothing to do with scapegoating SM.

We are discussing an incident from the match yesterday.

It's a big talking point about the way Reading's goal was scored.

This is the match thread. What are we supposed to talk about?

I feel a little sorry for Taylor, some fans built him up to much when we started chasing him & he's never going to be the player they think he will, so he's always going to have that on his back here.

Tbh I wouldn't be surprised if either he moved on in the summer, or we moved him on in the summer.

Shadows suggest the sun was behind the main stand. Imo he was caught out by the early(ish) strike. Just a simple keeping error.

Guilty as charged. However, it definitely started before we started chasing him. As early as August 2019 on the station platform after we stole a point there (Albert's late equaliser), fans were discussing the blonde lad who tore us apart with his movement and goal.

Fast forward to home game (just after we beat DirtyLeeds) and a completely different, but equally brilliant performance as he bullied Figs and Worrall all night and scored the winner.

Add to that the same season a couple of appearances on Sky (one off bench against Sheep) and that's the sum total of what I'd seen Lyle Taylor play.

When we were interested, I was very excited as he has looked the complete centre forward. Pace  movement, strength,  work rate and goals. Whats not to like? Also remember how much his transfer fee was? Zilch.

Was I and many others wrong? I don't think so, its just that its quite possible we witnessed 2 of his best performances in the Championship and it was unrealistic to expect that level of performance week in week out?

I believe he will come good for us given the chance next season. He has shown enough earlier in the season that a good championship player is in there.

Its not like he's missed a hat full of chances. The falling over thing has been a bit irritating (although no complaints when he bought us a last minute penalty and winner vs Cov).

I hope so anyway.
