Very close friends - Bamford is still a fan at heart. I get his feelings. I also know that doughtys are very well looked after by hierarchy within the club. No massive issue here although it would have been good to acknowledge- even just on the big screen on 11 minutes or something…

I started the thread having watched Bamford’s interview. I agreed with his view that Nigel Doughty did a lot for the club. He invested a lot of money which didn’t really bring the immediate dividends we thought it would. Until I saw the interview I had forgotten it was the anniversary of his death. I assumed it was the 10th when it was the 11th. For me that one year makes a big difference. I think commemorating the 10th anniversary should have been an important. I can’t remember the Club doing that but I could be wrong. Eventually you reach a point when you ask when do you stop commemorating. Maybe we have reached that point. Thinking about I also have reflected today that is a bit hypocritical of fans like to me moan about the Club when I had forgotten and the fans hadn’t organised something themselves. I guess if it was so important to us we should have organised a small commeration.

The club dedicated the academy to him as that was thought to be the most fitting way to remember him. Is that not a significant gesture of gratitude?

Forza could have done something but they chose to do a Fortress theme instead.
DT could have also written a nice piece in the Athletic but he did nothing.

You are right sniffer. As I said - the doughty family are still well looked after at matches…

Short term deal until January. He wont be fit for another couple of months. Can't see what's in it for Sheff, unless they have an option on him.

Didn’t Bamford call Wilder a wanker a few weeks ago?
