Nottingham Forest - Brighton

Taking everything into consideration I thought Danilo was really good. It was only natural that he would tire and look slightly rusty at times, he was never going to play the full 90.

His passing was excellent, different gravy to Yates and Dominguez. The way Danilo got the ball out of his feet and played it to MGW for the first goal looked so simple but both Yates and Dominguez would have struggled with it.

So glad he is back and Sangare too.

There's a great video doing the rounds of about five of our players - when we were 3-0 up - all pegging it back at full pelt to get back in position.

The morning after the morning before..

Everything that could go wrong did go wrong last week, the most important thing was to show a reaction and boy did we do that!!!

Brighton however were dire, the manager set up with every attacking player he could despite having the slowest CBs ever. Some Brighton fans just before game said it was a risky set up-and they were even younger than their manager. Add to that we had a really poor reffing performance-that went mostly in our favour.

That said you can only beat what's in front of you and Brighton are (usually) no mugs.

Hard to pick anyone out after such a dominant display so I'm going all statto and picking all of them out!

Sels: 8/10 Two crucial saves in first half then untroubled and unruffled thereafter.

Aina 8.5/10 Took alot of stick last week but replied in best possible way. Solid defensively, good passing and a constant attacking menace with his buddy.

Williams 9/10 Outstanding. Barely noticed Mitoma, scored one and hit post as well. For me in these days of inverted wingers he is the long term answer at LB.

Murillo 8/10 Dug us out of a hole a few times in 1st half when errors by others put us under pressure. A class act whose brilliance defensively we have come to expect as the norm-which it usually is.

Milenkovic 8/10 Solid as ever and I loved that he was handed the Captains arm band. Rock hard too. When Welbeck back headed him in face, he got up rubbed his (quite possibly broken?) nose and carried on. Meanwhile Welbeck rolled half way to BC stand, stopped and rolled back, had treatment, cried and as he finally sat up, Milenkovic went over to check on HIM!! I love this guy so much. Proper old school.

Morato 8/10 Deserved a start, even if it needed a formation change to get it. Unflappable and showed he is more comfortable on the ball than he has previously shown. Another gem who is probably worth double what we paid for him already.

Danilo 7.5/10  In the context of a first game  back after a broken leg  he'd be a 10/10. His two passes to MGW and Elanga (think they're called secondary assists?) made the goals. I am so pleased he is back to give Nuno more choices. Once he gets match fit he might just be the difference between (whisper it) Champions League or not.

Anderson :8/10  Another superb game, breaking up play and driving us forward with quality. This lad has it all except pace-and might just sneak into an England squad sooner rather than later.

MGW. 9/10  Wow. When he plays like this he is unplayable. Brighton were the unlucky recipients of arguably his best ever 90 minute (or rather 80) display. He only needs to be on it like this for 15 minutes for us to win the game. To be on it throughout meant Brighton were destroyed. Initially I thought it was an act of mercy by Nuno taking him off. Brilliant Brilliant performance.

Elanga 9/10: A "told you so" moment for me. I defended him when ridiculous comments were being directed towards him when his form dipped. A lad with that much talent and pace, plus a work ethic and day to day desire to improve could not be sold (to a rival!) as he is young and will improve. He's been electric since regaining his spot-the only player with nothing to put right from last week- he terrorised Brighton. 3 lovely balls in for his assists, but that's only a part of the story. Another gem signed relatively cheaply and he will get even better.

Chrissy Wood again ole ole:  9/10  His job is to link play and score goals and boy did he do that. He is a natural at being in the right spot and 9 times out of 10 puts it away. A humble guy who is quick to acknowledge his team mates. If he avoids injury he could play the way he does at the age of 35 or 36. Another bargain at £15 million.

Subs

Jota 7/10 Pleased for him as took unfair amount of stick last week. Lovely calm finish.

Domingez 7/10 Slotted in perfectly and continued the Seaagull slaughter

Sangare 7/10 His first time passing was quality and under little pressure due to scoreline showed what he is about. Would've scored if not fouled. Tried to win ball with a hook tackle and upended a couple. Some say "silly free kick" I say determination to win ball. We need to get behind the lad as we have Chris Wood. There's a player and an option there.

Taiwo 6/10: Was willing him to score, but keeper denied him, though we did still score. People need to stop writing him off. I've said it before playing 10 or 15 minutes here or there is very hard for a CF. If we need him he'll be there.

Lucky trainers: 10/10 After being dropped for a mid-season break to Paris, they Slotted back in nicely despite looking a bit battered and a spectacular return to form ensued.

Great day, great performance but most of all great character. I love this group.

So proud of the lads for the response to last week's off day.

Enjoy Dubai you deserve it.

Was so pleased to see Danilo back. I thought he had a great game, especially in the 1st half. If you watch him when we have possession he is always making himself available for a pass, when he gets it he moved it quickly, often forward. Out of possession he is in the right position.

Nuno found a formation to get the best out of the available players. Incredible display yesterday from everyone.

These are special times. I’ve been going to the WFCG for a long time, and inside the ground yesterday people all around me were shaking their heads at what we had seen.

What a time to be a Forest fan.

Nuno has done a great job of giving us a few distinct styles and tactical options that the team is comfortable playing. Gives us different options depending on the opposition and also in game situation.

Whilst yesterday probably is our best team in my opinion, we'll want to go more attacking once the fixtures turn in our favour again.

Feel sorry for brighton fans.

Fancy conceding 7 and then you sign a defender from Derby County

Can't believe Brighton and their manager made such a fuss of that acidental clash of heads involving Milenkovic.

There was nothing in it at all absolutely nothing.

It's because they got a penalty for something similar vs Arsenal, obviously that was a slightly different situation as Welbeck clearly heads Milenkovic anyway.

The Arsenal one was a ridiculous decision really, it's funny Arsenal have had a few decisions this year that just go against previous precedent. Feels like they are this year's Wolves or Forest from previous years.
