I am delighted. He can get a good rest and come back fresh.

Am I the only one who likes TT?

MGW aside (I feel for him) I agree with TT's thinking.

I like that he appears to have a vision and has conviction over his decisions. Not just picking the best players and trying to shoehorn them in.

Not sure I agree with a few of the obvious odd selections like Henderson, Spence and Madueke though (and no MGW of course).

I appreciate though he has a style in mind with pacy wingers overlapping Kane and therefore he's stuck to his guns. That's a good quality to have even if its not the guns I'd of chosen!

I like that he isn’t simply trying to shoehorn every big name into the side like when we tried to play Gerrard and Lampard together when it clearly didn’t work.
But yes some selections are strange even without MGW and the Big6 bias clearly remains. Mainoo over Wharton, seriously? Do you reckon Madueke makes the squad if he played for Forest? me neither.
Ultimately I don’t think this England squad is good enough, we will do our usual sailing through the first round, beat a mediocre South American team in the second round and go crashing out the first time we come up against a quality side.

I think it's all about selecting the right people and the right characters of those in the squad who are NOT going to be playing.

I consider that very important when you are going to have 26 players living in each others pocket for a month.

Saw this on X and I agree with it.

“If you took Gibbs-White out of Forest and replaced with Palmer, Eze, Rogers, Madueke, Gordon or Foden, we’d be getting relegated.”

However it doesnt mean he would fit with Tuchels sytem and there in lies his problem.

Given that Tuchel's system is mostly about sideways and backwards football then I guess that progressive, creative players can be discarded.

Precisely, we discussed this earlier, he isn't a Tuchel player
