Yeah I think team selection was spot on, strong enough to ensure we go into the next game with heads held high. Yates made amends for his own goal ( not that he needed to ) and McAtee & Ndyoe looked much better then I have seen so far in Euro's. It really seemed a much happier camp I and do wonder if that's anything to do with recent departures or perhaps just trending upwards with overall results recently.

I think the team has a lot more stability with Sangare in it.
The period without him was disastrous, since his return they have sparred with the best.

So our reward for last night is a trip to Istanbul or Athens.
Panathinaikos would be the easiest of the 2 teams but still difficult for obvious reasons.
But they are not having a good season.
Also the match in Athens would be played in the Olympic Stadium which would help us too as it is not so 'hot' as Panathinaikos home ground is.
Don't really know anything about Fenerbahce to be honest.

An excellent performance last night against a team unbeaten in the Europa this season and unbeaten away from home in all competitions.
I don’t think any of the players put in a poor performance, it was good to see what McAtee could offer in what was his best game yet. I personally thought Yates was man of the match, aggressively winning the ball in midfield and driving us forward rather than laying it off for someone else to do that.
I must admit that I had issues with some of our tactics last night, the subs didn’t come quick enough and I was surprised to see who came on. I would have also liked to have seen McAtee to play a little more central rather than Dominguez but to be honest I’m probably being slightly pedantic in the scheme of things.
Well done Sean, the Management Team and the Players, they’ve qualified for the knockout stages of the competition which was definitely in question at one point.

I’m not convinced that technically he has the ability to play there at the highest level but how many times has he proved the doubters (me included) wrong!?
Oh Captain, my Captain.

Yates was great last night. Picking the ball up and driving at players, putting in decent crosses (one which forced the first goal), playing slide-rule passes and trying roulette turns. Glorious!
