It would have been a low quality 0-0, we would have said thanks for the point and moved on to look at Man City. Not great performance but not wrist slitting either. But we do need to pick up points in these away games to stop getting nervous.
If if if.
We all saw what happened.
It was a dreadful performance and nothing can convince me otherwise.
Great against Porto, Liverpool and Tottenham.
Garbage against Bournemouth, Everton and Fulham.
Are they not the facts?
It's called inconsistency.
Couldn’t agree more. I thought Fulham were pretty rubbish, especially in the 2nd half, and yet we still couldn’t figure out how to really trouble them.
I keep seeing people saying it should have been a draw and it was a 0-0 game. But it wasn’t, we lost.
Fulham were there for the taking and we’ve let a huge opportunity pass us by.
It’s so frustrating as we’ve all seen us play brilliantly.
I share the frustrations. My point was more that vs Everton and Bournemouth we were absolutely terrible, 2/10 performances. I thought last night we were poor but not as bad, more 5/10. Its not an excuse and if we accept the reality of our situation we need to be far better to remain as a PL team.
Iraola has worked with his Bournemouth squad for two years.
Moyes has been back in charge of Everton for nearly twelve months having inherited a solid foundation from some other chap whose name escapes me.
Marco Silva has been in charge at Fulham for four years.
All three teams that have been cited are built by managers who have been given time to build a solid foundation to be competitive in the Premier League yet out of those three only Everton sit in the top half (just, in 10th).
Sean Dyche inherited a basket case, arriving on the back of the departure of our worst manager since returning to the Premier League, who had replaced a manager in full self harming mode. Therefore is it any surprise that performances are inconsistent? Do people really expect us to put in 7/10 performances week in week out on the back of that?
The only thing that matters for the next three months is that we pick up results as and when we can.
If Sean is afforded the time that Iraola, Moyes and Silva have had then we will see a substantial uptick over time compared to what we are seeing now (albeit this is football and it will still happen on occasion).
The most inconsistent part of the Club right now is the fan base, we need to get behind the management team and players and give them our full backing.
Let’s not forget that no team has survived relegation from the Premier League having had three different managers in any one season. We are still in a relegation battle and comfortably beating Spurs or Liverpool doesn’t automatically erase that challenge.
Lots of work to be done but we have a management team and squad of players capable of keeping us up (and hopefully providing a decent run in Europe and / or the FA Cup).
I’m f****d off after last night but it’s gone now, Man City is the focus and I’d happily take a draw but fully accept that a defeat is pretty inevitable.
Don’t come on here talking common sense, stating facts and talking about realistic expectations.
Don’t you realise we are either brilliant or shite depending on the last result?

I have said many times on this forum that we shouldn't get too excited when we win or too doom and gloom when we lose.
I have also said we should take the middle ground.
It never works like that though.
