Well and truly. He left a decent job at Boro to go there and this is how they thank him.  He improved them significantly.

As outsiders we can see how poor they were before he arrived and just what a lost cause Wolves were last season. But then again the football commentariat were astounded when we sacked Dyche so maybe you have to look a little closer, or have a deeper understanding before passing judgement?

Ironically Rob Edwards replaced Vitor….

I think sometimes you have to do what you think will improve performances. Like you say, from the outside it probably looked like Dyche wasn't doing badly with us but it was apparent in how we were playing that we'd have been in trouble if we'd have stuck with him.

Was reading something the other day about Arsenal bringing in Raya after Ramsdale had had a decent season with them. 'Decent' wasn't enough and they knew they could do better and ultimately it paid off.

Which I guess is where EM is now with VP? Does he stick to a solution that worked well last season and seems to be ok, or does he twist and bring someone in who has more of a proven track record of success? Personally, I'd stick.

It's a risk either way. A new manager might have a better profile and ceiling than Pereira but then we're starting from scratch again and the players have to get to know yet another manager and way of working and playing.

They obviously like Pereira and enjoy how he manages them but we saw how things unravelled at Wolves.

Yep, it's the churn that's the concern to me. If it were just one new coach after a previous extended period of stability then you might say that's fine. But any new coach coming in will be our fifth coach in just 12 months. It's bonkers, it wont be good for the current players to go through another change and any new player we hope to sign will look at it and come to the conclusion that we're a high risk to their careers.

Agree with all that Pap. Personally I think there are managers out there that would be better than VP certainly in the longer term. Its just that the external optics of yet another manager change would be terrible.

Just a thought, could we get Rui Silva back?
Issue may be that the bloke Wolves are bringing in is himself Portuguese. Vitor has his own trusted No2 anyway but I would be pissed off if Rui ended up at West Ham back with Nuno.

Report now that Trippier - whose contract doesn't start until July 1st - is considering cancelling his agreement to join Wolves because of Edwards' sacking.

Also, there is no guarantee we would get one of those managers. Could easily get worse.

Lookinga like Amorim getting Milan job. Where does that leave Glasner now?

Would love him here.

Frank still out of job too, maybe he waits patiently for the first club to twist? Maybe Carrick starts poorly?

Spurs signing Van Hecke from Brighton and linked to Tonali. Already signed Robertson and Senesi.

So annoying that they stayed up last season. Stupid Villa and Everton.
