The Championship 2020/21 - Duncan Mckenzie - 27-07-2020

Norwich, Watford , Bournemouth, Coventry, Rotherham and Wycombe are the new additions.

Bit too early to say whether the 3 relegated teams will be favourites to bounce back.

I think we have to see which managers and players will be leaving first.

I can't see any of the promoted teams bothering the top half.

Weakest championship i can remember.

Do you reckon?

I am not sure. The 3 teams coming down will up there or there abouts and then we have the 3 losers from this seasons play offs. Chuck in Millwall and Derby if they escape a points deduction and we have 8 teams besides us right there.

Chuck in Stoke as well so that is nine.

I reckon it will be just as strong as any other season. We have been in this league long enough to know that anyone can beat anyone else and we can't take anything for granted.

Others will be thinking the same. There are still some very good teams. Will be massive test for us again.

We can throw in Bristol City too under Hughton. There are still some very good teams. It will be massive test for us again.

RE: The Championship 2020/21 - Mcforest - 28-07-2020

Going to be another tough and interesting season but i feel unlike other years there is no front runner for promotion.

The three that have come down are ok but are no better than anyone else in this league and pretty sure they will lose a few players that they won't be able to replace. Norwich are the only ones that decided to bank the premiership money for club security whereas the other two have put themselves in a real financial hole in order to bring in players with no relegation wages clauses.

If Brenford or Fulham don’t go up then they will have to balance the books with some wage reductions and player sales of their main stars. Fulham even more so as it will be drop in the parachute payments

We also will lose at least 2 or 3 key players ourselves so until the squad is finalised i could not even begin to say where we will come.

It's a massive test for every club. There's normally one outstanding candidate who gets promoted and never looks like they won't, eg Wolves, Newcastle, maybe even Norwich recently, but the rest have to slug it out. Leeds were very close to a capitulation in Feb when we beat them and West Brom would've blown it if Brentford could've just extended themselves for a couple more games this season.

I don't see any club who is odds on to dominate the league nect time around. If I had to put money on it, I'd probably say Watford or Norwich.

I wonder if Derby and Sheff Weds will be starting the season on minus points?

Sheep fans are confident they'll get off on the basis that the EFL approved their ground sale and valuation.

Wouldn't surprise me one bit.

Birmingham apparently on the verge of appointing Aitor Karanka as their new manager.

I just don't understand that at all. AK likes 'a project', in that he likes to bring in loads of players. As far as I'm aware, Brum haven't had a pot to piss in recently after running into trouble with FFP. They must've promised him all of the Bellingham money.

Snowflake manger, dodgy owners, badly run club. Yeah, that'll work.

Kieran Dowell has moved to Norwich on a permanent transfer, and Manchester City have agreed a fee of around £41m with Bournemouth for Nathan Ake.

So that's £41m on top of their parachute payments.

Bournemouth had one of the highest wage bills in the Prem apparently, so you can expect lots more players to leave before start of next season.
