Danilo Dos Santos De Oliveira - McDurban - 09-05-2023
I started a thread for Danilo back in January but it quickly got shuffled off to Our Brazilians.
In recognition of the fact that he has now established himself in the starting XI, has scored his 3rd goal and has a 6 year contract, it is time he had his own thread.
This lad has rapidly adjusted to life in the Premier League and with his left foot, looks set to be at the heart of the Forest midfield for seasons to come.
His reading of the game improves each outing, and the interplay between Danilo and Gibbs White is developing into a key relationship.
Gibbs White's subtle heel into the path of a charging Danilo for the goal is the type of attacking threat from midfield that has been missing from Forests arsenal.
Someone early on in is career with Forest said he "can't finish", well he has put that rumour to bed.
When Cooper began playing him higher up the pitch I though it was because he was prone to errors, being so young and new to the Premier League.
While that may have some truth to it, the reality is that Copper no doubt wanted his energy higher up the pitch to match that of Gibbs White.
I look forward to reading more observations from the forum about this youngster who seems to have plenty of potential and time to fulfil it at Forest.

Looks a very shrewd buy- can see why some of the top 6 were checking him out. I don’t think he’ll be with us long unfortunately, midfielders that score goals tend to be very expensive though…

He’s part of the team that sign off on all incoming players.
He is the only person who decided which player forms part of the 25 man squad (ie ahead of LOB).

That pass to Johnson for the first goal was world class and I mean world class.
Danilo was a great find by EM's South American scouting network and thank God steve gave him the green light to complete the move.

Cooper only signed Wood, Shelvey and Ayew, isn't it obvious? He only knows former players and English based players so he can't possibly be involved in any others...

Yeah just majestic, couldn't have played it better perfectly taken by Brennan too. We scored three really good goals last night, MGW's pass to setup Danilo's goal was also glorious. Excellent build up from midfield too.
Lets hope this scouting network has a few more gems for next year!

Username/Wassy, I think Sniffer sums it up perfectly and I am NOT at all detracting from SC involvement which I would assume was his approval prior to the signing. Not many on here would have known about the lad prior to arrival so well done our South American scouting system.

Having a left foot on the midfield left improves the angles.
