RE: The Premier League 2025/26 - stirred - 18-01-2026 Wolves on 8 points and Derby’s record suddenly looking safe! RE: The Premier League 2025/26 - wassy04 - 18-01-2026 One thing that is fairly clear is that the teams playing in Europe are feeling the strain right now. Us, Palace, Newcastle, Spurs, Liverpool, Chelsea all have struggled particularly recently with injuries/burn out. Even those like Chelsea and Newcastle with big squads. Been a good leveller in general but we do seem to be suffering in particular. I really think you have to be strict with your rotation even though the performances will drop otherwise you'll burn out so early. Time for EM to pick up the phone and tell him to be patient for the summer …. Newcastle also just crossing aimlessly in the box. Every point will need to be battled for. It amuses me that the club shop has a range of dinosaurs. Is it a bad omen for Sean that they are on sale? Not bad for a tenner to be fair :Funny: RE: The Premier League 2025/26 - ozzyten10 - 19-01-2026 What’s goal - surely we should be getting dibs on oly wonder kids? I'm afraid if we paid that there would have been an outpouring of allegations. He had one goal in 17 appearances before last night. Just imagine the meltdown if we had given Olympiakos 35M for him. It's funny how these signings are great when they play for someone else but would be deemed a disaster if they signed for us. You know my feelings, its how a MCO model should operate. We trade quality between us not give each other cast offs which is how its worked so far. I agree with you Sal. On that subject we could have an arrival from Rio Ave this window. Unfortunately though in our case it is not that easy. I will try to explain... First of all EM is an Olympiakos fan and the God of Piraeus. Secondly just imagine if all of Olympikos talent is mopped up and sold to Forest. They suddenly start losing the title to Panathinaikos, PAOK and AEK which then results in them not being in Europe etc. Gate 7 would never stand for that. Gate 7 is not just a fans end in the stadium, they are an institution and they have a very big impact on what goes on. It's a difficult position EM finds himself in when it comes to Olympiakos top talent and I hope I have explained it well to try and get people to understand it better. RE: The Premier League 2025/26 - Salvatore Matrecano - 20-01-2026 I get it Sniffer but you are effectively saying Oly can trade with any PL club except Forest which makes no sense and actually puts us at a disadvantage. We have of course got Sillah in the U21s who looks to be a real prospect needs to be more of that stuff. So lets say we signed Kostoulas there should have been an agreement a few promising B team players go the other way. Might for example have made sense for Kalimuendo to have gone straight to Oly on signing. Then you get respect in the system and not cynicism that one team milks the best bits and the other gets the rejects which was what happened with us a few years back. |
