France over 10 years ago (we had McLaren remember?)
PSG ended 6 years ago
He has done nothing since then and the game has evolved.
No thanks

Laurent Blanc would be a massive upgrade on Steve Cooper.

RE: Evangelos Marinakis And Co - Salvatore Matrecano - 21-09-2022

Look if EM really wants to spend his hard earned fortune on a load of millionaires and mercenaries who will be here for a year or two before clearing off, none of whom will give a shit about playing for Forest then fine give someone like Blanc the job. Personally I think he would be an utter disaster.

The whole point of getting Cooper was EM wanted someone who would develop youth and build a team with an identity. I would say he is doing that very well so let him get on with it.

Not tear up the whole plan because we lose a few games.

Nobody has said that we are interested in Laurent Blanc.

It's also true that EM wanted Cooper because he would develop youth and build a team. There is just one problem, Cooper is not committing to the project because he won't sign a new contract at least not yet anyway.

I vote we let Dane choose the next manager, when Cooper eventually goes.

He's appointed two in this country now, Ismael for Barnsley and Cooper for us, and both did mighty fine jobs for him.

If Marinakis brought in some world name like Blanc then I could see Murphy leaving.

Dane chose Cooper?

Think EM might have something to say about that Pap.

Michel the Spaniard will return to Olympiakos.

Now confirmed ^^

Laurent Blanc, Benitez and Cambiasso were also in the frame.

Obviously all managers/coaches that EM likes just for future reference

Corberan, failed at Oly, never managed in PL
Laurent Blanc, Ok he managed PSG but is currently working in Qatar which says something
Benitez, he always does Ok but he is old news now
Cambiasso has never managed anyone anywhere

Does anyone seriously think any of the above would be better than Cooper?
Again, be careful what you wish for.

Did anyone seriously think Cooper would achieve what he did in his first twelve months?

To be clear the argument here is that because Cooper way overachieved, we should appoint someone else with similarly low expectations on the proviso that it'll likely happen again? Because that makes loads of sense.

7 games and that's all its taken for people (not all) to turn. I just don't understand the rationality of this attitude. We've seen this over and over again both with Forest and with other clubs. Grass is rarely greener.

Amongst other things sacking Cooper will not make our club an attractive prospect to work for. It will make it much more difficult to attract future managers akin to Watford, how are they doing by the way?

I don't see anyone turning on Cooper, not on here anyway.

What I see is a man who at the present time won't extend his contract.

That will cause speculation.

SM: "We are on to something special with Cooper"
Username: "nope, not in the slighest"

This sounds like turning on him to me

RE: Your Thoughts On The Next Nottingham Forest Manager - Username - 21-09-2022

Please don’t misquote me and take it out of context.

SM said “ Which would indicate we are on to something special with Cooper surely?”

I don’t think it does, that’s an emotive stance and things change quickly. The past doesn’t dictate the future.

Where do I say that I want Cooper gone or turning on him? I think he has a thankless task, I am surprised/disappointed that he doesn’t know his best eleven yet. I think if he doesn’t sort it quickly he will be gone, my / our opinion is irrelevant.

RE: Your Thoughts On The Next Nottingham Forest Manager - Username - 21-09-2022

I would probably be warmer to him right now if he were more committed to the role.
