RE: Your Thoughts On The Next Nottingham Forest Manager - Joe Baker Legend - 17-09-2022 All this talk of Cooper going, shocked, all I can say is people have very short memories, we should be backing him in time of need! RE: Your Thoughts On The Next Nottingham Forest Manager - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 17-09-2022 (17-09-2022, 06:59 AM)Joe Baker Legend Wrote: All this talk of Cooper going, shocked, all I can say is people have very short memories, we should be backing him in time of need! I think we are backing him Joe but we are losing football matches, he hasn't signed a new contract and there are one or two issues behind the scenes. You can see why people might think there will be a change. Sniff, with respect can you elaborate int he 'issues'. Its frustrating as hell reading that and not having any detail. This. People saying they find the team selection baffling but if you asked the question on here "what is our best XI?" You'd get a lot of different answers, that's why Cooper still deserves time, trying to work 22 new signings into a coherent team is always gonna take time no matter who is in charge. On top of that who are we getting that's better anyway? We're gonna be 19th/20th going into the international break, there are rumours that EM wants an "elite coach" to go with all the new signings, does he think he can get Tuchel or Poch to join? I'd suggest they'd laugh down the phone at us. The options are stick with Cooper, risk a foreign manager and hope that they take to the Premier League quickly, which then also raises the question who would pick him, Dane? EM? Someone else? Or it'll be somebody like Dyche. I know which option I'd go with... Stick. Stick should always be the default position. RE: Your Thoughts On The Next Nottingham Forest Manager - Sniffer Dog (Admin) - 17-09-2022 Does Cooper want to stick with us though, there are two sides to this. It wouldn't stagger me if Coops walked before he was pushed. Most intelligent supporters are backing him. His name was sung in the stands, at final whistle many applauded the players for their effort but we all worry that our traditionally trigger happy owner will be wondering why all these expensive players are not giving him a return on his outlay. I'd keep Cooper if we don't get another point before World Cup personally, unless he were to lose the dressing room. We need spirit as much as quality. Agreed. I would be gutted if he was sacked or resigned. If he resigned then I can't help but think something terrible has happened. The turnaround from promotion would have been mad, and it clearly started before the season started. No point in speculating as it appears some know what is going on. Either way, if he is sacked or resigns, we become a laughing stock in my eyes and it just makes the jibes about the number of players we have bought even worse. I hope we turn it round, I really do. Near on a year of joy as a fan and then almost immediately in the mire of talking about relegation and the manager's position. Rubbish. I'd also add, that if we do get relegated, I'd far rather do so with Cooper (who I think would get us promoted comfortably the next season) than with the almost inevitable random European manager athat doesnt know the Championship. So much for us joining the Prem no matter what happens! This 100% RE: Your Thoughts On The Next Nottingham Forest Manager - Paplane - 17-09-2022 Even though we dont want him sacked, I do think Cooper can be criticised though. Some decisons have been questionable imo. Why's Kouyate out of the side after getting in and looking half decent. What's the issue with O'Brien? He's looked the best player in the side when he's played. Why's Brennan role not being explored? Dennis getting just 5 minutes at the end of games? All questionable areas imo. Likewise, I'm sure I did a poll at the end of last year to this effect. Can't find it now RE: Your Thoughts On The Next Nottingham Forest Manager - wassy04 - 17-09-2022 (17-09-2022, 09:10 AM)Paplane Wrote: Even though we dont want him sacked, I do think Cooper can be criticised though. Feels like the criticism is harsher on the next manager thread Kouyate didn't look great IMO, just because he scored from a corner. O'Brien did make his non selection look silly though. I don't think Dennis is any good personally and has looked poor when he's come on. If I was a prem team choosing between signing Brennan and Dennis I know which one I'd want. |
