RE: Glass Half Full Or Half Empty - Salvatore Matrecano - 13-09-2020 Sorry not Marco Silva, it was Victor Sanchez who lasted just 2 games. But yes Silva we believe is still mates with EM and looking for employment.... RE: Glass Half Full Or Half Empty - Marinakis Red - 13-09-2020 Leonardo Jardim another one of EM's managers that has been linked in the past also available. They discussed what had gone wrong, what needed to change, and a plan for the way forward. EM doesn’t strike me as a man who, after clear the air talks where a decision was arrived at, suddenly changes his mind because he’s still holding on to resentment which he should have aired in the clear the air talks. I’ll be really annoyed if Sabri is sacked after 2 games. I’ll be demanding a full refund on my season ticket. That's an impossibility he has had 47 league games now. RE: Glass Half Full Or Half Empty - Strawberry Avenger - 13-09-2020 (13-09-2020, 11:31 AM)Sniffer Dog Wrote: It wasn't Marco Silva. I dont get where the lost the dressing room notion has come from either if that is something that even happens in football. Where Forest conceded 1st in 20+ games last season, I think they only won 2. I find that characteristic alarming. SA. RE: Glass Half Full Or Half Empty - Strawberry Avenger - 13-09-2020 Personally feel we could have done with the CH QPR signed...in our back line...ironically. SA. Lots of alarming stats SA just which ones you choose to pick out, today's choice was goals scored conceded and PPG stats from me. I have tried balancing with positive ones but at the minute it's very diluted. Personally, I would be significantly more annoyed if he were given 10 games and it only goes to prove that he is not working and we aren't progressing. If he is given time and he gets us winning again, we get promoted etc etc then you are more than welcome to point to this post and say I told you so. I will take all the deserved abuse and at the same time be absolutely delighted. However, I would give that about a 1% chance of happening, probably less. I don't buy into this whole he needs time to change things, the new players need to bed in etc etc. We just played QPR away, who are sh1te - do we not think they need to implement new ideas and tactics to improve, they've also lost their best players and had a few new signings I think? If Sabri had any intention of changing style (which I fully believe we need to, but that's a bigger debate) then we should have shown more intent from the off, more energy, more balls in general! Sadly, I think this is only going one way. I think the longer we kid ourselves that things are going to miraculously change, the less opportunity this season provides, with what I believe to be a strong squad. RE: Glass Half Full Or Half Empty - Sabricadabra - 13-09-2020 Blaming the style of play is wide of the mark. If it’s merely a case of attacking teams more why have we had 21 years outside the top league? Why didn’t the other managers realise that all you need to do is attack teams and the results follow? How did Sabri achieve our 4th best finish in those 21 years? Why haven’t the other managers, who presumably played the ‘correct’ style of football done as well as Sabri? It isn’t that simple. The ‘style of play’ is one of those excuses which fans use to justify wanting rid of a manager. Sabri - too defensive MoN - too hoofball and outdated Karanka - too much boring possession Warburton - too gung ho and naive Etc etc None of them were sacked because of their style of play. Results are everything. If Sabri is replaced it will be because of results, not style of play. RE: Glass Half Full Or Half Empty - Strawberry Avenger - 13-09-2020 When I think of the critics Davies, Aitor, Warburton and MoN had... I recall our bottle being better under those managers. And our possession. Ironically, two of those managers won their games. Still. Another 9 games we should see some progress in terms of the team's 7 new signings bedding in (and whoever else they bring in...a winger and a ball playing CM god willing...) SA. If you don't get along with your boss or don't tow the party line...in 3 of those cases. But primarily. If you're not winning. It's a results based business and? Everything else comes under scrutiny, and style of playing 'losing' football or if it's 'negative' gets people's backs up. If the next 9 games continues the post Leeds run of form, he's out. I hope The Coach and Forest get wins. We've brought in 7 players (with a few key omissions that opposing teams will exploit...) to begin fixing the problems of last year. Getting a fit Sow into the team would help. And I'd drop Figs to the bench and bring 'not going to be bullied' Big Ben in. SA. |
