Yates has not got the technical ability to be a regular premier league player and what is asked of midfielders in that league at the minute.

No he hasn't but I wouldnt put it past him to step up in level again, just like he has done at every level he's played at.

Even yesterday someone on the match thread said we needed to get rid. Just because he doesn't offer much as an attacking threat, he's still very important. Makes so many interceptions which often start moves as well as break down opposition attacks.
Yes he is injury prone and if we do pull away from the relegation zone we should manage his game time. He does also sometimes do a silly tackle and get booked early in which case he's much less effective but still stats don't lie (I assume)

Then I was going to agree with those saying, not yet, but seems to move up the levels eventually.
Then I am sat watching Newcastle at Arsenal and half their midfield look like they need a bit more of what Yates has (aside from Shelvey-not playing well but still looks classy).
I think we have established though that he is much more than "a league 1 player at best" as was mooted at some point not that long ago.

Disagree, I think if Sow stayed fit for a long enough period he'd do OK in prem. Not saying he'd play top 6 or anything but he wouldn't look out of place at Burnley or Newcastle for example.
This is on the assumption he continued to improve during to playing more regularly by not getting injured
