RE: Martin O'Neill It Is Then... - Ciscokid - 18-01-2019 I don't think that Karanka was let go only because of the league position. There was clearly a major split over team selection, failure to exploit our young talent and, probably, recruitment. AK had a similar problem at Middlesbrough with one of the best Owners in the country and left with a similar MO. I don't agree with the criticism of Marankis. We have a lot to thank him for and I am sure that he wants the same as us. Please use the term allegedly forced out if you don’t want to say resigned RE: Martin O'Neill It Is Then... - Ciscokid - 18-01-2019 I used the term that I thought was most accurate given that none of us know or will ever know what actually went on. The fact of the matter is that there is no long term plan anymore, not just at Forest but at most football clubs. Times have changed, especially in The Championship, now it's all about the presesnt, the here and now, nothing else matters. We may not like it but that is what it is. I think Martin O'Neill himself actually said something along those lines in his interview yesterday. An astounding record at Celtic. He's one of the brightest managerial lights of his generation. A glittering array of achievements. He's been successful. He's a winner. But the thing, for me, is that he earned his stripes in the lower leagues learning his trade. He's shifted gears and achieved at all levels. But he started at the bottom and worked his way up like Brian Clough. SA. RE: Martin O'Neill It Is Then... - Strawberry Avenger - 18-01-2019 (18-01-2019, 05:17 PM)Joe Baker Legend Wrote: This.
