RE: Nottingham Forest - Brentford - Redreg - 01-10-2023 Dominguez is going to turn out to be our best signing RE: Nottingham Forest - Brentford - Woan - 01-10-2023 (01-10-2023, 05:48 PM)Salvatore Matrecano Wrote:(01-10-2023, 05:31 PM)Tricky Wrote: I was worried about Turner today. He looked even more nervous on the ball than usual (and he has had moments in other matches also but has somehow managed to get away with it). He seems to want too much time on the ball at his feet and that is inviting pressure onto himself all the time. I suspect Franks has noticed that also and instructed his strikers to put pressure on him and it worked! Tim Howard, Brad Friedel and Casey Keller would like a word. My opinion MOM by some distance, possible handball not withstanding. Think he is fine. He was going to come back on before Coops made the change. He was walking around fine on the pitch afterwards. RE: Nottingham Forest - Brentford - Fumanchew - 01-10-2023 Also 13 minutes?? I know the new rule changes but can’t think that goal celebrations, foul stoppages and subs added up to 13! No clue where that came from I was thinking about 8/9 max I think 15 minutes ended up being played instead of 13 RE: Nottingham Forest - Brentford - zicorice - 01-10-2023 Positives - Seen more of what Sangare brings and I like it alot. - Boly motm for me, but we take it for granted a bit. - promising debut for Murillo - Midfield 3 dominated 1st half. - Dug out a point when we looked like losing. - Turns out MGW is actually a great sweeper... -Toff very impressive. - CHO looks after the ball so well. - Dominguez again very good. Negatives - This is a much weakened Brentford and we let them off hook. In fact we never fully had them on the hook. - Taiwo was dominated by Pennock so offered nothing (when onside). - Turner had a shocker, but I wouldn't drop him on back of one game. - Elanga had their full back on toast in 1st 10 minutes and then never troubled him once the lad was booked! - Created very little after tidy Midfield play. -Toff a better option than Niakhate who basically got sent off for being very clumsy. - Crowd was flat again. We're turning into entitled expectant Premier league fans. Next it will be a drum then the Trentend Ultras. If that happens I'm done. I'm probably as guilty as anyone as I expected to beat Brentford - but I at least join in with every song - however, We showed some really good stuff without actually troubling their keeper 1st half. Progress is definitely happening but it's clearly incremental now. 11th with a tough away day next week so where we probably expected to be. 5 points from 3 home games is probably a touch below par, but the 3 away points and improved away performances a bit above so on balance a solid but unspectacular start to season with promise of better to come....I hope. RE: Nottingham Forest - Brentford - ozzyten10 - 01-10-2023 Their bench actually thought their goal was offside and said as much! We got away with a clear pen by turner but after last years mess ups then a bit of karma! We started really well today but don’t think cooper is making the right decision in playing Sangare as an 8 instead of a 6. MGW will end up as an 8. We are a bit short of wingers for me. First 30 minutes saw us use the ball so much better and have a bit of control. We then got out numbered with some clever tactical switches by Brentalona - with full backs playing inside and elanga and CHO not knowing where to cover. Aurier tried to sort on field but we finished the half clinging on a bit. Dominguez- very good at pressing but can’t do it on his own! Murillo - very shaky start - recovered - decent debut. Deceptively quick. Boly - immense again Niakhate - clumsy Aurier - OK - solid Mangala - near tidy and lasted 90 CHO - very good ball carrier - put in a amazing cross- sacrificed after 10am Elanga- poor today - not postive enough on the ball Awonyi - isolated Toffolo- excellent- has he ever let us down? Turner- bad game, worried about his kicking and confidence on the ball now. Origi - hope there is more to come Wood - needed his experience - he did some subtle things that helped us massively defensively - blocking off passing lanes - filling in and heading on own box. RE: Nottingham Forest - Brentford - ozzyten10 - 01-10-2023 Kouyate - would rather have seen santos… RE: Nottingham Forest - Brentford - Hyperkoi - 02-10-2023 Is it true that both Worrall and Santos went down the tunnel after the last subs were made? RE: Nottingham Forest - Brentford - Salvatore Matrecano - 02-10-2023 My opinion ( and of course opinions are like arseholes ) had we started with a back 4 of Aurier Worrall Boly Toffolo We would have won that game. Having the usual version of Turner in goal and not his comedy twin would have helped too. Niakhate would have been in my team but not at LB. If both Aina and Tavares are injured, then the decision should be between toff and neco. Knowing the injuries, my back 4 would have been aurier boly niakhate and toff. Given the same injuries, if we had started with a back three, then I’d have picked nico at LB. Well Worrall was on the pitch at full time supporting his team mates |
