RE: The Premier League 2022/23 - Redgirl - 05-07-2022 Good result for me, can go to the first home game now. Not so keen on the Monday and Friday fixtures though! RE: The Premier League 2022/23 - Paplane - 05-07-2022 I honestly thought we might be a bit anonymous on tv this season but with five games selected for TV by middle of September, clearly not. I assumed we would be last game on Match of the Day fodder. I'm going to have to get it in my head that we're kind of a big deal now. The giant has awoken. More money coming in for facility fees for those games I believe, an extra 1.2 million for every game broadcast on top of the equal share rights and international broadcast rights. RE: The Premier League 2022/23 - zicorice - 05-07-2022 The new away members system is a bit sh1t. 5k members allowed, knowing only 3k tickets available most games. I only just missed the 18 away game bar. Three games missed due to Sky making them inaccessible to me, (Bournemouth, Fulham and West Brom) plus couldn’t get a Luton ticket due to website cock up. So really miffed. If I miss out on "glory" games to someone who wasn't there on a pi$$ing wet Tuesday night at Bristol for instance it seems a bit sh1tty. Home membership doesn't directly affect me, but again seems pricey. I guess the rinsing of fan's is truly underway. Our Season Ticket renewals have certainly been very well rewarded- but then we didn't know what league we'd be in. We renewed anyway and would have done regardless of division. If I had a quid for every person who has said they would buy one now if they could, I'd be able to pay for next seasons likely price hike no problem! I should stop moaning and get used to it really. I plan not to miss a game this year and have changed my job to make this possible-no matter what Sky do. But I will be pi$$ed off if I don't get a ticket for certain games.... Rant over. RE: The Premier League 2022/23 - nffc93 - 06-07-2022 I'm going for the Gold Membership, prob the best out a bad situation really so can't complain really. Agree Zico. I have 18, so it’s an agonising wait to see if I get an e mail / invite. 3 tiers would have been better, or at least some incentive for those who went to say more than 10 last season. Whatever the number people are going to be pissed off I guess. I do think its good that they have introduced tiers (maybe more would be fairer). Its good that you lose membership if you don't go to games. Agree, there are a couple of positives. I also get that they want to entice more followers. Strike whilst the iron is hot and all that. I totally get the somewhat steep buy ins. I'd happily pay more to retain last seasons privileges. Some of us went to the home Caraboa Cup games, travelled to Bristol in crappy circumstances and didn't try to resell my Hull ticket once the game became something of a "dead rubber". The club need to be careful not to alienate people in the pursuit of squeezing out the last pennies from us. The fact that everyone is saying we could sell 40k tickets every game is all well and good, but I didn't see 10k against Fleetwood and we had plenty of spare seats for Hughtons last 2 games and at Reading away for instance. The club are actually only truly rewarding 400 supporters for their fantastic commitment last season. I'd guess another 13-1500 went to at least 10 away games, still a significant outlay and commitment. Idiots like me are their safe bets. The extra 2-3k who turned up at Peterborough/Blackpool etc.. Will soon choose (as is their right) to give it a miss if things were to go wrong. Fulham away assuming stand is finished and Southampton away will act as good barometers. If either of these games should go beyond away members sale stage then I will be mightily pi$$ed off with the club. RE: The Premier League 2022/23 - wassy04 - 06-07-2022 Bit annoying that they're not offering Gold membership to people that gave us season tickets due to covid. My Dad didn't want to renew until now. Can't imagine we're the only people in that boat. Perhaps it was just too complex for the system to do that. |
